The renowned custom yacht builder, Feadship has announced the launch of the 95m mega yacht BLISS which has taken place in Makkum at the yard’s facilities. Designed and built to travel the world’s ocean, BLISS is Polar Code certified and features the latest in hybrid propulsion. Her timeless and elegant design is a result of a collaboration between the Owner, the shipyard, her exterior designer Jan Schaffers of Studio De Voogt and Rémi Tessier who created her beautiful interior style.
Advanced security and life-safety systems were installed while De Voogt Naval Architects have closely collaborated on the design and installation process of the yacht’s hybrid propulsion system in order for the vessel to be able to cruise in diesel-electric mode.
On the interior, BLISS features lovely high ceilings, creating a feeling of openness and spaciousness throughout, with accommodation that spreads over nine luxurious ensuite staterooms. There are numerous lounges for guests to relax, a large gymnasium and a wellness area.
On the exterior, the yacht has large deck spaces with a pool, a commercially certified helicopter deck convertible into a full sports and games deck as well as a number of alfresco dining possibilities.
From the technical point of view, she is fully certified to cruise the Polar regions, anchor in deep water or keep the position with her dynamic positioning system. She can reach a maximum speed of 17 knots and cruises at 12, with a range of 6000 nautical miles.
Built by Northcoast, her elegant mahogany interiors from Robin Rose exude a classical ambience, and the piano in the main salon will entertain diners with live music before they settle onto the sofas or head to the sky lounge for drinks from the wet bar and card games.
The traditional interiors come with top-notch technology, and outside there are plenty of modern amenities to ensure that you live life alfresco in complete comfort: The main deck aft has a wet bar for coffee or cocktails to accompany the meal, and the barbeque on the upper deck adds another flavoursome way to enjoy your meals. Although there is seating on the upper deck, the sundeck is the most desirable place to soak up the sunshine, reclining on the forward sofas or within the large Jacuzzi tub aft.
The accommodation is just as lavish as the salons, featuring mahogany joinery and furniture in the bedrooms while the bathrooms have marble countertops. There are 5 beautifully appointed en-suite cabins to sleep up to 12 guests: 1 Master suite, 1 VIP stateroom, 2 double cabins and 1 twin cabin that has two Pullman berths suitable for children. All cabins have TV entertainment, and the Master suite on the main deck also boasts a Jacuzzi tub in the his-and-hers en-suite bathroom.

Great news from ‘Down Under’! A newly implemented air travel bubble between Australia and New Zealand means yacht owners and guests will now be able to enjoy the pristine waters of New Zealand once more. Yachts can access the remote Pacific country under existing sea border exemptions for vessels, and the yacht owners, plus friends and family, can now fly to join the yacht via the new travel bubble.
Cruising craft and superyachts departing from Australia can gain entry to New Zealand under an exemption for vessels with NZ$50,000 (approx. €30,000) in service or refit bookings. Owners’ family and friends who have an Australian passport, or alternatively have been allowed into Australia and spent 14 days post-isolation there, can fly to New Zealand through the Australian/New Zealand trans-Tasman bubble and join their vessel.
New Zealand is a highly desirable sailing and refit location, as well as one of the safest places in the world. With Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern’s Covid-19 response hailed as the gold standard, the country has not had any community transmission for months, and daily life is almost entirely back to normal. As well as safety, New Zealand also offers many benefits for superyacht charters, such as straight-forward entry rules, as well as incredible natural sights and local attractions to enjoy. Wander along golden beaches, explore the breathtaking scenery, and admire the native wildlife – there is so much to see in this remote oasis.
“We have been waiting over a year now and are very excited that yachts and their owners, leaving from Australia can come to New Zealand. It presents the opportunity for cruising and superyachts to enjoy New Zealand’s cruising grounds, and superyacht regattas; the New Zealand Millennium Cup and the various regattas planned for 2022 by the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron,” says CEO of the NZ Marine Industry Association, Peter Busfield.
So, why not make the most of the new travel bubble and make New Zealand your next must-see charter destination.
