Dutch shipyard Van der Valk has delivered the 33m/108ft luxury yacht BLUE JEANS to her Owners, and with her completion, the shipyard has revealed the exquisite interiors which have made her such a show-stopping sensation.

M/Y BLUE JEANS comes hot on the heels of the shipyard’s award-winning superyacht LADY LENE (which was on show at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022 in September) and true to her name, she sports a denim blue hull and a matching matte superstructure in metallic silver for a bespoke appearance that hints at the unique social areas to be found on board.

The interiors for M/Y BLUE JEANS are the most intricate project that Van der Valk has taken on to date. Designed by Guido de Groot, the interiors combine a multitude of natural materials into one cohesive design: Varieties of marble, wood, and metal surround the bespoke furniture in light and harmonious surroundings influenced by Northern European and Asian styles.

Metal – copper in particular – was an integral part of the furnishings, light fixtures and accents to be found inside and out. Its use was not without challenges, however, as the metal corrodes in a maritime environment. To address this, a clear coat of paint provided protection without diminishing its characteristic patina.

One of the key features the Owners set in the brief was a ceiling height of no less than 2.5m/8.2ft in the main salon. The rest of the main deck has received the same treatment, resulting in a raised bow that is matched in proportion by a tall flybridge.

The arrangement dedicates the main deck to group socialising, with the formal dining area forward, the galley amidships and the main salon behind.

All of the guest accommodation is therefore placed on the lower deck and consists of a Master suite, 2 VIP staterooms and 1 twin cabin to sleep a total of 8, plus a crew of 4 in the bow.

The interior styling and complementary technology for reduced noise, vibrations and overall comfort will secure M/Y BLUE JEANS a reputation as an outstanding vessel in her size class, and set the standard for future interior yacht designs at the Van der Valk shipyard and beyond.

The Turkish shipyard Magnolia Yachts announces the delivery of its first yacht, the 24-metre pocket superyacht MAGNOLIA ONE inspired by trawler vessels with all the comforts of a luxury yacht. Taka Yacht Design created her neo-classical exterior lines as well as naval architecture incorporating a dark green hull and beautiful wooden details.

The yacht has plenty of outdoor areas for guests to enjoy, including a curved transom that folds down for easy access to the water, be it for lounging, boarding or loading. The shaded cockpit area boasts a u-shaped seating arrangement with an al fresco dining option for up to 12 guests. The sun deck offers yet another outdoor dining space, as well as a bar and a sunbathing area. The main saloon below is illuminated thanks to a unique skylight found in the centre of this deck.

The accommodation sleeps up to 6 guests in three elegantly appointed cabins with private ensuite bathroom facilities. These include a full-beam owner’s suite, a VIP suite located forward and a twin suite, all found on the lower deck. The lower deck also holds the crew quarters that accommodate a crew in two single cabins.

MAGNOLIA ONE is powered by two Cummins 610hp QSM11 engines that allow her to reach a top speed of 14 knots and a range of 2,200 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 9 knots. She also has an 800kg telescopic crane to deploy the tenders and toys stored on the upper deck.

Luxury sloop ARGO 54 has been launched from the Dutch shipyard Jacht- en Scheepswerf Gouwerok BV, based on the outskirts of Amsterdam.

The impressive 54m/177ft sailing yacht has a beam of 9.65m/31.7ft for the aluminium hull and superstructure, built to a design by Juan-K in collaboration with Rob Doyle Design. At this stage, few details have been revealed about this high-performance sailing yacht, which is now being transported to Omikron Yachts at Lavrio, Greece, for outfitting.

Australian shipyard SilverYachts has delivered the 85m/279ft luxury yacht WANDERLUST – previously known as GLOBALFAST – to her Owner following the successful completion of her sea trials.

Luxury yacht designer Harrison Eidsgaard has come up with a radical new concept in collaboration with Feadship – the expedition yacht EXPV.

Designed for Owners and guests intending to spend weeks – even months – on board, the 87m/285.5ft explorer yacht EXPV offers the height of luxury and privacy while being equipped for worldwide adventures.

The characteristic exterior design is an amalgamation of a ‘bold use of glass and dynamic curves’ from Harrison Eidsgaard. Far from traditional, E/Y EXPV is designed with purpose, starting with the split superstructure that strongly differentiates the forward section from the aft. This separates the Owner’s living spaces from that of the other guests, placing it forward for a ‘villa lifestyle’ with exceptional views and reduced disturbances so that work can continue unabated while the rest of the group is at leisure in the guest area behind, arriving and leaving during the journey as they please.

The two deckhouses have separate stairways and lifts for time apart, and when the whole group wants to come together a floating glass bridge connects the two areas. There is also the Ocean Lounge on the lower deck, which serves as a cavernous beach club that is further extended by fold-down terraces on both sides.

These terraces are slightly raised above sea level so that they can be used in rougher conditions without the risk of flooding, and glass sliding doors mean that the platforms can be deployed in cooler seasons without affecting the interior climate. A large skylight in the deckhead above the Ocean Lounge provides natural illumination to the area, which is fitted with an indoor swimming pool so that guests can exercise and relax whatever the season or location.

The open deck between the glass bridge and Ocean Lounge has room to store two 13.5m/44.3ft tenders, while a foredeck side-opening tender garage provides more storage for water toys. The top deck is designed as a helipad and offers guests panoramic views of the destination. Other amenities include an indoor/outdoor wet bar, ample sunbathing areas and plenty of lounging options to suit the climate and the seasons.

A fuel capacity of 250,000 litres / 66,043 US gallons will give her the autonomy to roam across the world’s oceans, making use of her range of 6,000 nautical miles. A cruising speed of 14.5 knots and a top speed of 15.5 knots will carry guests to their destination in a timely fashion, and the Diesel-electric propulsion grants the option of reduced noise and vibrations in sensitive marine environments.
