World Yachting Summit 2025 – A Resounding Debut in Monaco
The inaugural edition of the World Yachting Summit (WYS), held from April 15 to 17 in Monaco under the “Capital of Advanced Yachting” banner, has successfully concluded, leaving the global yachting community with a renewed sense of purpose, urgency, and cautious optimism. Drawing together over 20 nationalities and stakeholders from across the supply chain, the event fulfilled its mission of becoming a platform for reflection, discussion, and forward-thinking in an evolving industry.
With 19 panel sessions, 8 “Inspiration Talks,” and expert-led workshops spanning three days, the WYS 2025 tackled topics ranging from sustainable innovation and tourism development to digitisation, workforce challenges, and changing client demographics. Keynotes by figures such as Giovanna Vitelli (Azimut Benetti), Olivier Wenden (Prince Albert II Foundation), and Victorien Erussard (Energy Observer) emphasised the industry’s urgent need to chart a course toward net zero while maintaining human connection, experiential value, and economic sustainability.
Among the many attendees was Colin Srivastava, yacht charter broker at CharterWorld: “Key themes such as sustainability and its practical implementation, attracting the next generation to yachting, and the development of new destination infrastructure were not only highly relevant but also thoroughly explored and thoughtfully presented throughout the summit. The event’s organisation and evening soirées were exceptionally well executed, leaving a lasting impression.”
Jean-Claude Biver’s rousing opening talk set the tone for the summit, reminding the audience that being “first, unique, and different” drives innovation. This mindset resonated throughout the event, as experts examined how the industry must adapt through SMART thinking: Sustainable, Modern, Attractive, Resourceful, and Transformative. From rethinking destination development to simplifying ownership models and amplifying training efforts, the summit made clear that collaboration and bold thinking are key to future success.
Monaco, with its blend of stability, infrastructure, and luxury lifestyle, proved to be the ideal host. As José Marco Casellini, CEO of M3, noted, WYS 2025 has the potential to become a cornerstone event for global yachting strategy and innovation.
The summit concluded with a reflective look ahead. While challenges such as geopolitical tension and generational shifts loom large, the collective sentiment was cautiously optimistic. With events like WYS setting the stage, the yachting world is charting a new course—more conscious, connected, and client-centric than ever before.
CharterWorld at the 2025 MYBA Yacht Charter Show in San Remo
The sun was shining on San Remo’s Porto Sole Marina in Italy last week as yachts and their crews lined up to welcome visitors to the MYBA Yacht Charter Show. CharterWorld was represented at the show by our team of charter brokers eager to inspect the yachts on display, plus our fabulous charter yacht ROCK.IT, welcoming brokers and hosting guests for lunch on board.
As well as inspecting yachts, the team had the opportunity to enjoy the hospitality of the captains and crews, network with industry brokers and other visitors and hear about some exciting new technologies on the market.
“The MYBA Charter Show offered an excellent opportunity to see some of the yachts available for charter in the Western Mediterranean for the upcoming season. There were plenty of yachts in attendance in beautiful Sanremo that are either new to the market or have not been featured in a charter show recently, making it a fantastic chance to explore a wide range of yachts over the four days. “, said charter broker Trina Howes.
Our yacht highlights from the show
M/Y NECTAR (65.20 m / 213′ 11″ Feadship) is fresh from a 2024 refit which has seen her upgraded to a high standard using plenty of light wood finishes and stylish neutral soft furnishings. The crew were exceptional and presented visitors with amazing table decorations.
M/Y SOULMATE (34.30 m / 112′ 6″ DL Yachts) hosted a delicious lunch for brokers with beautifully presented dishes featuring cleverly matched flavours and perfect portions, all matched with a selection of Italian wines presented by VSF Yachts. The table presentation was simple yet elegant, with excellent service from the crew. Our team were impressed with the spaces on board, and she felt larger than her 34m length.
Eye-catching catamaran THIS IS IT (43.5m / 142’7” Tecnomar) is truly unique and would make an exciting choice for charter guests looking for an innovative, head-turning yacht. Those looking for a party loved M/Y ALFA NERO (81.27 m /266′ 8″ Oceanco) or M/Y FOREVER (44.81m / 146’98” Logica Yachts), which both showed off their swimming pools, deck bars and more.
CharterWorld’s LJ Houghting was kept busy presenting M/Y ROCK.IT (60.05 m / 197′ Feadship). The captain hosted lunch each day, which was created to perfection by the chef and beautifully presented and served by the attentive crew.
Social events, such as the Opening Cocktail Party for all participants, enabled everyone to unwind in the company of other brokers and yacht industry players, where lively discussions about yachts, destinations and the future of the industry went on late into the evening.
The MYBA Charter Show is the season opener and didn’t disappoint with an exciting line-up of yachts to inspect, delicious food and drinks to taste and a wonderful atmosphere to soak up. Thank you San Remo!
