Re-visualising concept art through Nuvolari Lenard luxury mega yacht CENTERFOLD

Italian designers Nuvolari Lenard have worked with esteemed photographer Jarmo Pohjaniemi to create a new approach to luxury yacht concepts, capturing the spirit of adventure and personality of their latest design: mega yacht CENTERFOLD.

202m mega yacht concept CENTERFOLD by Nuvolari Lenard

The 202m/663ft concept is brought to life with dynamic lighting and perspectives that add a storytelling element to engage with potential Owners: Instead of a concept model adrift in a turquoise sea, she is depicted in destinations such as the Maldives and Miami. Instead of waiting until construction is complete, Phojaniemi already takes you along on the voyage using his own seascape photography for the backdrop. Although Phojianiemi is best known for his fashion photography and commercial work, the allure of the ocean and chance ‘to explore the highlights, contours and shadows’ of M/Y was both familiar as well as a welcome new creative challenge.

Megayacht CENTERFOLD will be built with a high tensile steel hull and aluminium superstructure, and have a displacement of 16,800 GT. She is designed with a variety of propulsion options available to produce zero emissions using full-electric stealth mode in environmentally-sensitive regions, and impressive high speeds of over 35 knots from her 100,000 HP engines for quick cruising between destinations along a stretch of coast.

Current concept images show a massive beach club lower terrace lined with sun loungers, a swimming pool down the centre of the main deck aft along with a wet bar, more sun loungers, sunbeds and an abundance of sumptuous seating areas to drink, dine and relax in the shade. A helipad is placed on the bow, and the sundeck aft is fitted with a winter garden to keep the area in use in all weather conditions throughout the year.

Technical launch of Feadship luxury yacht PROJECT 823 complete

The pale hull of PROJECT 823 looked like an apparition on the dark wintry morning, and details on her layout, accommodation and amenities are even less substantial. The strong contemporary appearance features a raked bow and four decks, with a large foredeck area that could be dedicated to a helipad or private lounge later on. The lower deck swim platform has the potential to join a large beach club, creating a large indoor/outdoor lounge next to the sea.

M/Y PROJECT 823 will now be transported to the Feadship facilities in Kaag for outfitting before her delivery in 2023. Other recent projects include the recently launched luxury yacht JUICE, and the upcoming luxury yacht PROJECT 822.

She was built on speculation in Yalova with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure with exterior styling and naval architecture by Unique Yacht Design, and a layout similar to the 80m/262ft BILGIN 263, luxury yacht TATIANA. The interiors have yet to be decided and are awaiting an Owner to make their mark.

Amenities are placed across the five decks, which are evenly divided up indoor and outdoor spaces for lounging, dining and entertaining. The sky lounge comes with a wet bar, while the main salon has a 16-person dining table as its focal point. Other notable features include the 50m2/538ft2 lower deck beach club, sauna and gym.

The accommodation layout currently consists of 7 en-suite cabins (1 Master suite on the upper deck and 2 VIP staterooms on the main deck, and 4 further guest cabins on the lower deck), however, this can be modified to be anywhere between five and nine. The Owner has a dedicated space on the upper deck providing a generous full-beam bedroom with his-and-hers en-suite bathrooms, a dressing room and office, plus a private outdoor area with Jacuzzi.

The twin main engines give 1,920 kW for a top speed over 17 knots, and a cruising speed of 12 knots with a range greater than 5,000 nautical miles.

A feast for the eyes as Feadship reveals 71-metre superyacht JUICE

Outside the Feadship yard in Amsterdam, onlookers were treated to a sighting of the beautiful new luxury yacht JUICE as she was leaving her shed for the first time.

Luxury superyacht JUICE by Feadship launched

The Owner is an avid collector of modern art, and the name ‘JUICE’ comes from the 1967 work by American artist Ed Ruscha. A 3D logo of the name can be seen on the funnel.

Poised and elegant, this 71m/233ft superyacht features a raked bow and sinuous lines surrounding the dark glazed windows in the hull form. The exterior design from RWD is polished to perfection, giving her smoky grey hull and silvery superstructure a mirror-like sheen. Glass balustrades and poolsides play an important role in giving unrestricted views of the surroundings.

The flush foredeck conceals three custom tenders underfoot: A 10m/32.9ft limo, an 8m/26.3ft guest RIB and a rescue boat, all of which are launched and retrieved using the hull gullwing doors.

The interior by Peter Marino uses top quality materials that were hand-selected by the Owner, who had a strong hand in the project and appreciated the Feadship reputation for meticulous attention to detail.

Notable features include a dedicated Owner’s deck between the bridge and main decks, while the latter location hosts four generous guest suites. A spacious beach club, lower deck cinema and sundeck gym add to the entertainment offerings while guests are hidden away from civilisation in remote anchorages.

62-metre CRN superyacht RIO launched in private ceremony

Italian yacht builder CRN (part of the Ferretti Group) has successfully launched its latest 62m/203ft vessel PROJECT C138, which has been christened superyacht ‘RIO’ during a private ceremony at the Ancona shipyard in Italy on the 15th of January.

Motor yacht RIO by CRN launched

Together, the indoor and outdoor spaces provide a range of options for dining and lounging.
